Cliff Avril became the second Seahawk to make a trip to the locker room for evaluation during the New England Patriots‘ 28-24 win over Seattle in Super Bowl XLIX.

The defensive end left late in the third quarter and was ruled out for the rest of the game with a concussion, the team announced. Avril had two tackles before he appeared to go helmet-to-helmet with New England’s Brandon Bolden while trying to shed a block in the third quarter. Continue reading

Justin Blackmon‘s future remains uncertain, but the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars let it be known he won’t be turned away if and when he returns.

Larry Fitzgerald faces quite the career decision this offseason.

The wide receiver is scheduled to make $15 million in base salary and occupy $23.6 million of the Cardinals‘ 2015 salary, a figure that the team cannot reasonably stomach. Wade Phillips is back in the NFL.

The Broncos have agreed to terms with Phillips, who will join Denver as defensive coordinator, the team announced. Phillips first told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport of the news, adding that he is “excited about it.”

After spending the 2014 season out of football, the former head coach of the Cowboys, Bills and Broncos returns to Denver under recently hired head coach Gary Kubiak. Phillips last served as defensive coordinator and interim head coach of the Houston Texans in 2013. Continue reading
