Washington is taking the bubble wrap off Jordan Reed.

The star tight end has been activated from the PUP list, the team announced Sunday. Reed had been placed on the list the day before camp opened due to a toe injury.

Cincinnati might not be in as bad of shape in the back end of its secondary as it first appeared.

Safety Shawn Williams‘ dislocated elbow will not require surgery and will keep him out for four to six weeks, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source informed. The timeframe is likely closer to four weeks, Rapoport added.

Williams suffered the injury during the Bengals‘ 30-12 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday night and was carted off. Continue reading →

With Week 3 approaching, Denver’s quarterback competition appears headed toward a final decision pretty soon. But whose job will it be?

Paxton Lynch got his turn with the starters on Saturday, leading a touchdown drive to open the game. From there, it was largely unmemorable, going 9 of 13 for 39 yards on the night with Brandon McManus nailing two kicks from 45-plus yards.

It didn’t take long for Roberto Aguayo to find a job, at least temporarily.

The Chicago Bears have been awarded Aguayo via waivers, the team announced Sunday. To make room for the second-year kicker, the Bears have placed wideout Rueben Randle on injured reserve.

Jacksonville might be facing the reality of a thinner receiving corps after Sunday’s practice.

Marqise Lee went down with an apparent leg injury during practice, per Mike Kaye of First Coast News. Lee was carted off with teammate Allen Hurns close by, according to Kaye.

Lee ended up suffering a high-ankle sprain at practice, a source informed told NFL Network Ian Rapoport. Rapoport added that the USC product will try to come back for the season opener, but caution from the team could push his return date back. Continue reading →

It took about a week, but Ryan Tannehill has made the decision to go under the knife.

The Dolphins quarterback is undergoing season-ending surgery to repair his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. The Miami Herald first reported the news.

Rest easy, Baltimore. Joe Flacco will be back — eventually.

Flacco “will return to practice in the preseason, but he is not expected to play in these games,” the Ravens announced in a statement Friday. The organization avoided specifying when in the four-week-long preseason he’ll actually return to practice.
