Rex Ryan once had it tattooed on him, so Jets fans would know it’s real.

Now gone from Gotham and moved west to Buffalo, Ryan has been seen decked out in Bills gear nearly everywhere he has gone — but one reminder of his past with Gang Green remained on his right biceps. He had this marking, this reminder of better days gone by.

Wade Phillips joins Broncos as defensive coordinator

Wade Phillips is back in the NFL.

The Broncos have agreed to terms with Phillips, who will join Denver as defensive coordinator, the team announced. Phillips first told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport of the news, adding that he is “excited about it.”

After spending the 2014 season out of football, the former head coach of the Cowboys, Bills and Broncos returns to Denver under recently hired head coach Gary Kubiak. Phillips last served as defensive coordinator and interim head coach of the Houston Texans in 2013. Continue reading

Rex Ryan‘s final run in New York wasn’t one to write home about.

The Jets were among the worst in the league, finishing 4-12 as inconsistency at the quarterback position handcuffed a unit that ranked 22nd in total offense.

Despite the ugly finish, many players voiced their support for Ryan, a defensive coach who was undeniably loved by his players. Jets defensive end Sheldon Richardson was among the most emotional, nearly coming to tears while defending the coach following a 38-3 loss to Buffalo in Week 12.
