Sunday is upon us. I’m hoping you read your morning paper with your coffee, well before the 1 p.m. kickoffs, or online with a second tab open with your fantasy football lineup, because I’m about to drop some knowledge.

Peyton Manning did as he said he would, yet his status remains the same: undecided.

The Broncos quarterback flew to Denver to meet with the team’s brass — general manager John Elway and president/CEO Joe Ellis — on Thursday to discuss his future, but no decision came out of the meeting, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a team source. Wade Phillips joins Broncos as defensive coordinator

Wade Phillips is back in the NFL.

The Broncos have agreed to terms with Phillips, who will join Denver as defensive coordinator, the team announced. Phillips first told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport of the news, adding that he is “excited about it.”

After spending the 2014 season out of football, the former head coach of the Cowboys, Bills and Broncos returns to Denver under recently hired head coach Gary Kubiak. Phillips last served as defensive coordinator and interim head coach of the Houston Texans in 2013. Continue reading

Raheem Morris verbally accepts job with Falcons

Although the Atlanta Falcons don’t officially have their coach, the rest of the staff appears to be coming together.

NFL Media’s Albert Breer reported Monday, per two sources apprised of the Falcons‘ decision-making, that Redskins secondary coach Raheem Morris has verbally accepted the position of assistant head coach with the Falcons. Morris will run the pass defense in Atlanta. Continue reading
